Ingredient lists are listed in descending order of concentration. Scent-specific ingredients vary by variant and are listed separately below.

Ingredient descriptions are provided for transparency and education. They explain why ingredients are included for styling performance, texture, scent, consistency, or feel. These descriptions are not medical claims and should not be interpreted to mean the product treats or prevents any scalp, skin, or hair condition.

What Each Ingredient Does

Water

Emulsification Base

Used for emulsification and to create a smooth, workable texture.

Coconut Oil

Conditioning Lipid

Supports smooth distribution, reduces fiber drag during styling, and plasticizes the rosin structure for pliability.

Mango Butter

Emollient Stabilizer

Adds workability, stabilizes texture across climates, and reduces brittleness in matte formulations.

Pine Rosin

Hold & Structure

The structural backbone of the formula. Provides natural grip and matte hold without synthetic polymer fixatives.

Beeswax

Binding Agent

Reinforces the rosin matrix. Provides shape memory and reduces flaking without rigidity.

Kaolin Clay

Matte Control

Absorbs surface oil, adds lift and separation, and enhances the dry matte finish.

Tea Tree Oil

Aromatic — Tea Tree variants

Crisp, botanical aromatic. Used in Tea Tree scent variants only.

Clove Oil

Aromatic — Clove variants

Warm, resinous aromatic. Used in Clove scent variants only.

Geogard ECT (Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Sorbic Acid)

Broad-Spectrum Preservation

A preservation system used at 2% of the total formula. Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, and Sorbic Acid collectively make up the Geogard ECT preservation system, which helps maintain product integrity and provides broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast, and mold within the formula.

Storage & Shelf Life

Because ROOTED is made with naturally derived ingredients and no synthetic preservatives, we recommend using it within 60 days after opening. Keep the lid closed, store in a cool dry place, and apply with clean, dry hands. Discard if the product changes smell, color, texture, or shows any sign of spoilage.
